Leo Dots Lookbook

Zara Leopard Trench (similar here and here)  |  Christian Louboutin Leopard Pumps (similar here and here)  |  Chanel Bag  |  Horn Bracelet and Gold Ring t+j Designs items to launch sometime this month)

Two trends I love for fall; leopard and polka dots.  I looked through my closet and realized I have a ton of leopard items, which I have collected over the years, so if you love leopard, you'll see more to come.  The leopard jacket was purchased last year from Zara and the polka dot top was a purchase from over 7 years ago.  Isn't it always fantastic to recycle old with new huh?

The jewelry I have on has just been delivered to my sister and I.  We are super excited to show our next collection of items and hopefully will be online by the end of the month.  Keep posted on my blog, twitter and facebook page!

It's September and I'm excited about three things!  Zara online shopping starting September 7th (I'm sure the site will be bombarded),  Topshop opening in Chicago September 7th, and Missoni for Target September 13th.  What about you guys?  I might be sleeping at Target the night of the 12th :).

Don't forget about our awesome promotion!  25% off all earrings @ http://tplusjdesigns.com with promo code LABORDAY.  CONGRATULATIONS TO JANELLE AND KILEEN FOR OUR GIVEAWAY WE HELD!  A EMAIL IS IN YOUR INBOX!!  BE SURE TO EMAIL ME PICS OF YOUR LOOKS WITH THE JEWELRY.

L.A. Treats

My girlfriends are the best, they love to shop and eat as I do and we did much of that during my weekend trip to L.A.  Two of the girls live in the L.A. area and the other in San Francisco.  It was my west coast weekend of fun in the sun!  What did we do and what would I recommend doing?

  • Bliss spa in the W at Westwood - we each got a triple oxygen facial and it was so delightful.  I haven't gotten a facial in over 2 years and it reminded me I should do this more often!!
  • Joan's on Third - we went there for lunch and the first pictures of the cookies, pastries, and salads do not show how delicious this place was.  This is a definite go to for lunch, super cute inside, lovely to sit outside and the food was delish.
  • Robertson - we went shopping on Robertson after Joan's.  The street has changed a lot from a couple of stores and the infamous Ivy restaurant to more big box brands and less boutiques.  I missed Madison and Lisa Kline's on this street, they have since moved to other locations.
  • Church & State Bistro - I wish I had pictures, my photos didn't come out well in the dark.  I loved this restaurant, the ambience was lovely and food was great for groups and sharing.  The only downfall was the service, but my experience with L.A. servers is similar every time.  A definite recommendation if you haven't been here yet.  If you love bistro food, you'll love this place.
  • The photos above with us in our animal print outfits (not on purpose, all three of us ended up in them) was at the Malibu Shipyards/Country Mart shopping area.  I love the relaxed setting of the area and of course shopping at Kitson, Madison, and Alice+Olivia.
  • We ate lunch that day at Cafe Habana Malibu.  Cafe Habana was a must eat in the Soho area of New York, so I got to eat at my favorite Cuban place in Malibu.  The delicious grilled corn is a must have.  While we were there, David Spade sat behind us :)
  • Public Kitchen and Bar Restaurant - we went Saturday night and the restaurant is located in the Roosevelt Hotel.  It was ok and although food was good and not too expensive, the scene was not my style.  Although I love going to L.A., sometimes the over the top fake, plastic, and I'm more important than you attitude can be a bit too much.  It is what makes Hollywood, Hollywood right?

Beautiful trip with beautiful people!  My friends and I plan an annual girls trip and we typically go to Mexico, but since one of my girlfriends is 4 months pregnant we decided upon L.A.  Finding time to be with my girlfriends has always been a priority for me, I don't know what I would do without them!

Labor Day weekend is coming up and what better way to celebrate than shopping for yourself!  t+j Designs is offering 25% off all earrings until Monday!  Shop with the promo code "LABORDAY".

Lady Leopard Lookbook

Diane Von Furstenberg Dress  |  Christian Louboutin Pumps  |  Leopard Aldo Bag  |

I had a fantastic girls weekend in LA and am now trying to catch up on work and my blog.  Look for my blog post this week of some fun pictures of where we ate, drank and shopped.

This DVF dress has been a great work, interview, as well as day into night dress.  I find DVF dresses so comfy, yet structured, sexy and conservative.  Her designs are classic and many of her dresses I own are worn for years.  Her prices are a bit higher, but she has fantastic sample sales in New York a couple times a year and you can get her dresses for around $100.  Paired with my lovely purple ensemble is this fantastic purse I found from Aldo's.  I've never purchased a bag from Aldo before and stumbled upon this beautiful bag for less than $50!  The quality and details are excellent and my search for the perfect leopard bag was fulfilled at the perfect price.

Can't believe it's the end of August already, this year has flown by.  Looking forward to the long weekend to come.  For everyone who has supported my blog and t+j designs, thank you!  My sister and I look forward to sharing our next collection!

Adventures with the In-laws Lookbook

My in-law came into town last weekend and I spent Sunday with them exploring the burbs of Chicago.  My father in-law took all these photos, including the lookbook ones!  He has an extensive knowledge of photography and cameras; besides being the family photographer for every get together, he advises us on photography items.

We took a beautiful tour of the surrounding areas of Glenview and North Shore, but my favorite two stops was Hackney's and The Chalet Nursery.  We sat outside at Hackney's, enjoying the beautiful weather and the delicious burger on rye bread.  If you go, don't forget the onion ring loaf!  I don't even like onion rings, but these were fantastic.  Our stop after lunch was The Chalet Nursery.  This place was huge and had everything you needed for the outdoors but also a bit of home decor items inside.  Gorgeous flowers, blooming floral trees, and luscious plants everywhere.  I got a patio set perfect for our deck.  The burbs of Chicago are gorgeous, but at this point I am still a city girl.

Heading to a girls weekend in another big city, so excited!  I'll be taking photos with my nifty Instagram application all weekend long.  It's my favorite application (as you can see in one of the photos above, I'm clicking away).  Find me on it under redsolesredwine.

Don't forget, our giveaway ends on Monday at 8/29 at midnight PST!  Luxe jewels for free!

Makeup & Lipstick Post

Many of you have asked me about my makeup brand and colors and today I'm sharing my top 7 favorite must haves!  I use these products everyday and it's really only 5 steps to getting the same makeup look.

1.  Nars Powder Foundation, Tahoe
2.  Nars Bronzer, Laguna
3.  Nars Blush, Deep Throat
4.  Nars Eyeshadow Set, Cordura
5.  NYX Lipstick, Louisiana LSS 634
6.  NYX Lipstick, Doll LSS 635
7.  NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss, Perfect Red

I love Nars and have been using them for years.  Every season or so, I go into Saks to get an updated makeover and choose the colors I love.  My top 4 favorite Nars items that work season to season and used daily are listed above.  The eyeshadow is a great staple and gives a great smoky eye for the nighttime.  Introduced to me by my sister were the NYX lip products.  I've tried a billion lip items but I love NYX!! Non-drying, moist, fantastic colors, great texture and PRICE, nothing is better.  The lipsticks are around $3 and glosses at $5; I'm tempted to buy almost every color.  My next step is to try some of their makeup items since I love their lipsticks.

My 5 quick steps on my daily makeup routine:

Step 1.  Oil of Olay daily facial moisturizer SPF 15
I love this moisturizer, it's light, non greasy and inexpensive.  I've tried all different brands and this was my favorite.  Remember to put SPF on everyday, it will save you from wrinkles later!

Step 2.  Nars Powder Foundation works perfectly for everyday.  I don't need to apply a liquid foundation and then a powder; the two in one is the perfect coverage for me.

Step 3.  I'm a big bronzer girl and Laguna Nars Bronzer  works on all skin colors.  It's well known for being the best bronzer all year around and their bestseller.  Not too dark and a slight shimmer gives you a warm glow

Step 4.  Nars most popular blush is Orgasm, which I also have, but Deep Throat (funny name huh?) is the absolute best color on me.  Bright pink and fun.   Nars offers the best of all three, within one compact here; it includes Laguna Bronzer, Orgasm Blush and Albatross Highlighter.

Step 5.  Apply a bright lipstick (my favorite NYX :)

For my daily routine, there's no need for eye makeup or mascara because I have eyelash extensions.  If you haven't read my post yet, here is my review/love of the extensions!

Hope you enjoyed my favorites!  My next beauty goal is to try different eyeshadows and venture down the colored nail polish route :).

Casual Preppy Lookbook

Tommy Hilfiger White Blazer (similar here)  |  J. Crew Stretch Perfect Shirt  |
Forever 21 Destroyed Denim Shorts  |  Chanel Bag  |  Miu Miu Flats (similar here and here)  |
J12 Chanel Watch  |   t+j Designs necklace and earrings

I was headed out to dinner with friends the other night and decided on a casual preppy look and yes, I am wearing flats!!  I only own a couple pairs of flats but these Miu Miu's have been my favorites for over 5 years.  They've moved with me from San Francisco to New York and now Chicago; my definite go tos when I need to walk around.

This outfit is simple and I bet everyone has these combo's in their wardrobe.  A staple blazer, button down and some cute denim shorts, just add some jewelry and your ready to go out.  I am loving the weather in Chicago right now, it's cooled down a little, but perfect.  I don't want this weather to end!  Although I am ecstatic for fall fashions, I don't love the cold and fall means winter.  Hmmm, still trying to figure out how to show my looks come winter time :)!  Any advice let me know!

Date Night Lookbook

Tibi Strapless Print Dress (similar here, here, and here; all on sale!)  |  Reiss Turquoise Heels  |
Chanel Denim Bag  |  Vintage Necklace  |  Michael Kors Watch  |  My own pin in hair
Forever 21 Bracelet  |  t+j Designs bracelets

My husband and I had date night Friday at the Boka Restaurant, a Michelin star recipient this year.  Chef Tentori is one of our favorite chefs, his other restaurant, GT Fish & Oyster is one of our favorites and he recommended we try his other restaurant, Boka.  The dinner was delicious, divine, and decadent.  Nine courses of the most delicious bites; hamachi, quail, foie gras, eel, venison, king crab, octopus, oysters, pork belly, and much more.  I was so full when I left, but so happy!  His two places are definite must eats when here in Chicago.

For our date night, I chose my fun strapless Tibi dress, pulled up my hair, had fun and over accessorized!  Since starting t+j Designs, I've been playing around with how to accessorize each outfit.  Not only can it make you stand out, but I really do believe it completes the outfit.  I love to dress up, so adding a little bling to everything I wear puts a smile to my face.

For those who got their orders, love the feedback and be sure to send me pics or links to your pictures!  We would love to showcase our supporters wearing our jewelry!  And don't forget about our gorgeous giveaway!!

    Sweet Nautical Lookbook

Topshop Knitted Tie Neck Sweater  |  Zara Skirt  |  Gucci Shoes  |  Asos Quilted Lock Bag |
t+j Rhinestone bracelets coming soon  | Forever 21 Bow Ring

I thought this outfit was sweet and cute :);  a little nautical flavor with my favorite bright pink Zara skirt.  This sweater was a purchase from my big trip in New York where I shopped till I dropped at Topshop.  Have I told you how excited I am that Topshop is opening in Chicago in September?  I'm so happy that these big trend setters are coming into town to help me with my wardrobe.

I decided to pull my hair in a ponytail and as you can see from my pic, one loose piece happened but I wanted to show you the lovely floral piece (gifted from my sister for my wedding).  My last post with the bun inspired me to pull my hair back again.  I love having long hair and keeping it curled with my Hot Tools curling iron.  It's my typical hair routine, but I'm trying to accept the fact that I have a big head and face.  I've always been self conscious about it and have long hair, hoping to hide my round face, but your encouraging words have me wanting to pull my hair back more.  Plus, it is so much quicker and easier than curling my hair :).  I know, some of you may think I'm crazy, but we all have our little things we don't like right?

I really can't express how much I appreciate the nice comments and the support for t+j Designs as well as my blog.  XOXO THANK YOU!

P.S.  I promise to post my makeup must haves as well as lipsticks I use next week. I've gotten a lot of feedback about my makeup and will share it soon!

Don't forget, only until August 22nd, use the promo code "FRIENDS" to get 20% your entire purchase at http://tplusjdesigns.com!
