We went to a wedding last weekend and I had an outfit meltdown.  I couldn't decide what to wear and sat in my closet with a look of despair.  I know it sounds ridiculous but even with a closet full of stuff, all my gear was for a nighttime or summer wedding and I wasn't prepared for a daytime wedding/reception.  I have been so busy working on our jewelry line; I didn't pre-plan my outfit as I usually do.  My lovely husband came to the rescue and chose this ruffled Bebe dress, which I purchased 2 years ago and still had the tags on :).  It's similar to the Herve Leger dresses except for the price point and the fit.  I happened upon it in New York while my husband was at our favorite bagel shop waiting in line and I went into a Bebe.  It's tight fitting so it's a dress I need to feel body ready for.  I tend to get cold so my fur black wrap was a perfect accessory to warm myself up and cover a little of the front.  

Since I purchased my dress a couple of years ago, I wanted to give some suggestions of black dresses that would be perfect for a night out.  All of these are $150 and under!  Love the details and each one has it's own sexiness.

I wore this outfit on a dinner date with my husband; a little glitz with basic black pieces.  Topshop recently opened up in Chicago and I got some great purchases there including this embellished strappy cami, it also comes in black.  It's a great top to wear all year round in that you can layer it in the fall/winter or wear it alone with a great pair of white denim in the summer.  

It's been chilly and rainy in Chicago.  I miss the warm weather and all I want to do these days is stay cozy in bed with my dog.  I've caught a slight cold so feeling under the weather seems to be aligned with the weather in Chicago.

I recently purchased this fabulous faux fur Trina Turk sweater from Nordstrom on sale and it is my favorite fall piece.  It's cozy, beautifully made and the fur and sweater is a gorgeous carmel color.  I layered it over a jersey lightweight leopard dress I got earlier this summer and paired it with our fantastic new arrivals t+j Designs Layered Statement Necklace.  It was a bit chilly and rainy this weekend (as you can see in the pictures so dark and gloomy), so the only time we headed out was to eat.  The rest of the time we were nice and cozy at home.

The Forgotten Posts

With trying to get everything ready for our next collection of jewelry to be online, I've been behind on outfit photos and catching up on your wonderful comments.  I do ready my daily blogs everyday, I just don't always write a comment :).  I looked through my wonderful archive of photos and pulled out a couple of photos I hadn't or wasn't going to share and also realized I forgot to share one our favorite brunch places in Chicago!  The Publican is delicious; most people go there for dinner but my husband and I love to take our friends and visitors during brunch.  It's less busy, noisy, and honestly the brunch food is fresh, delicious and different from most restaurants.  My red wine poached eggs with a fresh prosciutto  salad is not something you ordinarily see on a brunch menu.  If you come to Chicago, it is a definite must eat for dinner or brunch.  Check out their menu here.

Regarding my forgotten posts, I'm sure all my fellow bloggers have pictures they take and when you upload them you don't love the outfit anymore.  #1 outfit I felt was too boring and didn't show off how fun the sequin sleeves or my glitter shoes were :).  #2 I ended up showing this outfit with heels rather my Chanel sandals and #3 Although I love this striped top from Forever 21, I felt like I looked bigger than I am in the top.  Well, funny thing is I'm sharing it all today!

I don't know how your weather is but the Chicago weather goes from low 70's to mid 80's, so my closet is a bit of a mess right now!  One day it's shorts the next day I've got a jacket on; it certainly makes blogging and getting dressed interesting.  I'm not a big fan of the super cold snowy weather, so I look forward to fall staying as long as possible.  

One thing I have a lot of in my closet are neutrals; it helps with mixing and matching my wardrobe and those days where you just want to throw something on.  I tend to buy neutrals items with special details and I was so excited about my most recent purchase, my Kate Spade Linette Pumps.  Feathers, a patent bow, a beautiful suede color and comfortable, these will definitely be worn a lot.  I have a hard time buying suede shoes due to the weather here, but I broke my own rule when I saw all those feathers.

Do you guys have those days where you're just not motivated to blog?  I felt this way this last week; a bit tired, just not in the mood, and overwhelmed with other stuff.  What I do really appreciate?  All the nice comments and feedback I receive from this blog and such positive comments and purchases from our customer for t+j Designs.  It makes it all worth it and feels good that people are responding to what I am doing.  Blogging is more work than most people think and fellow bloggers are so great at supporting each other.  It's a fantastic network of supporters and I am proud to be a part of it.   Thank you for your continued encouragement and it has been so great hearing from new readers as well!

What has excited me during this transitional weather change?  All the fall clothes and trends and changing up my wardrobe.  One trend I jumped on was the tie neck bow tie detail.  I love this Asos Bow Dress; jewel tone pink, easy fit, and flowy.  Asos is covering this trend at an affordable price and these are other dresses I love:

I definitely recommend the dress I am wearing if you want a solid piece with the detail.  What's great is that you can wear it with brown or black boots, a cute belt and a wool hat (as in picture #2).  The other options I've shown also have fantastic details; from the horse print, to the pretty pleats, to the adorable polka dot collar/tie detailing the black dress, each one is perfect for fall.  What do you think?  Are you loving this bow tie trend?
