If you follow me on twitter, you might have read my funny story wearing this outfit.  It was a bit chillier on Friday and I was headed to Michigan Ave to run some errands.  I do my little bits to save on money so I can fund my shopping habit so I decided to ride the bus (which is $2.25 each way rather than $35 to park by Michigan Avenue).  While on the bus, this stylish man said he loved my jacket.  When he was departing off the bus he noticed my shoes and said, "Oh and your shoes are even more fabulous!  Why are you riding the bus?"  It reminded me of the episode of Sex & the City where Carrie tries riding the bus and the bus arrives with a picture of her on the side of the bus :) and a person asks her why she is riding the bus when she is on the bus.

Happy Halloween Lookbook

A quick post to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!  We attended our friend's Halloween party and had a blast.  My Halloween started with someone stealing my awesome Pan Am outfit that I ordered from our front door. Unmotivated I waited until last minute to put together my outfit.  I looked at my closet yesterday and saw my Diane Von Furstenberg sequin beaded dress and thought I could easily be a flapper.  Everything was in my closet, the only purchase was the sequin silver headband.  One of the lovely necklaces I'm wearing is part of our holiday collection launching on Wednesday.  It's gorgeous with satin, gold chains, faux pearls and stones.

As you can see my handsome husband was still a pilot (still a bit bitter about my Pan Am outfit) and I had to post my favorite costume of the night by the host himself.  Isn't the Slim Jim outfit awesome?

I went to Kohl's for the first time this weekend and found this adorable poncho cape.  It's a great fall/holiday plaid with cord binding and reminds of an expensive Ralph Lauren piece, but for a more affordable price.  I've been on the search for an affordable poncho/cape piece and finally found one for under $100!

We spent a lovely weekend with my in-laws; eating lots of food, seeing our nieces and nephews, and my sister-in-law was so kind in throwing a t+j Designs jewelry party at her house.  Pictures to come this week!  

Although I love colors, sometimes I love to mix my neutral pieces.  The vest I got last year from Zara; I love the faux fur trend and will be sharing my love of affordable faux fur pieces this week.  The Elizabeth & James blouse was a recent fall purchase, although pricey, the silk blouse has beautiful suede cuff details, and leather trim at the center front.  It is a classic, but fashionable piece that I will wear for years.

Fuzzy Zara Lookbook

These are the same shorts I posted on Monday, Metallic Leopard Lookbook.  I've had them for 4 years and wear them often.  When I first purchased them I thought $150 for a pair of shorts was a bit much, but I love the fit and fabric; 4 years later I feel they were a great investment.  This fuzzy Zara sweater was one of those where I said to myself, "Do I like this sweater? Is this sweater weird?  Do I look big in this sweater?" But there's something odd, unique and cozy about this sweater.  It reminds me of upholstery, but in a good way and I think the touches of pink and metallic in the yarns drew me in.  I took these photos over a week ago and last week I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Atlantic Pacific, wearing the same sweater.

I pulled out another leopard top of mine last week when the weather was still warm in the 70's.  I love this Tibi top; the metallic jacquard leopard print is shiny, pretty, and has just the right touch of print so that it is easy to wear.  Now that the fall weather is in full effect, I'll probably wear a black blazer, leather jacket or coat as well as full length pants to head out.

It is always good to have pieces that can mix and match in your wardrobe so it's easy to dress each day and helps the budget.  

I know many of you might be excited about the Limited Edition Pink Burke Bag (well I'm assuming so because I am!)  My sister and I went to a purse factory and created these fun and chic bags inspired by the canvas totes I've been seeing around.  Our bag is even better - shaped like a real purse, the print is amazing with textures on it, and a longer strap is included so that you can use it over the shoulder.  Better pictures will be posted online.  We only have a small limited amount; when it launches next week and if you love it, you are going to have to get it quickly.  These will be launched mid next week!
