My best fall purchase has go to be my alice + olivia pleated leather skirt.  I've worn it over and over again and the easiest combination has got to be a button down and a blazer.  In transit are some Zara chunky sweaters I ordered online; hoping they'll look great with my skirt as well as my new leather leggings I purchased.

This skirt is just one of my leather/faux leather purchases of the season.  I'm loving the gold color as everything else I got was a safe color of black. Getting good use out of my summer blouses as I transition them into fall and layering up with my fur.  I had a great weekend celebrating Halloween early with some friends and working on the new arrivals that are on my jewelry site.   Definitely check out our new bracelet sets that are great deals (we sold out of our love bracelets before - they are back with pretty beads).

Back to Chicago with a cold that I caught from my son.  I was a bit under the weather for a couple of days but feeling better now.  Thank you all for your lovely comments from the last post.  Means a lot and keeps me motivated.  There are days/weeks where taking a photo and writing the post seems to take me longer than usual.  Trying to balance it all seems to overwhelm me sometimes. Mom Inspiration

Today is my mom's 60th birthday and my son is exactly 6 months.  I wanted to dedicate this post to my mom and how she has inspired me in so many ways.  As I grow older and now having my son, I can't help feeling sentimental about my relationship with my mom.  I've always been close to her, but since having my son, my appreciation of her is more than I can say.  She is my inspiration as a mom, wife, and woman.  My style and career in fashion were all inspired by her.  Her style has always been impeccable; fashionable yet not too trendy, and colorful and full of accessories.  Her best accessory though has to be her smile.  She has a lightheartedness that I strive to have and she pushes me to relax.

My mom has dedicated her whole life to being the best to us three kids and as I grow older I try to do the same.  Family is everything to me and now having my own family I try very hard to be in the moment to appreciate every second.  I cherish my mom's advice, love, support, and help; she inspires me in every aspect of my life.  

Happy Birthday mom.  I love you.

(And yes, I dressed up my little guy to take pictures (getting ready for my holiday cards), he kind of looks like a chubby old man but I loved it.  He loves to smile.)

Spent a wonderful weekend with my family in Seattle celebrating my mom's birthday.  Going home makes me wish I were closer to home and seeing my parents with Grant is beyond amazing.  They are filled with joy seeing him and the giggles I hear from Grant are the best. 

Packing myself and a little one to go on a flight proves to be a tougher challenge.  One of my easy go to outfits - skinny denim, button down top and a layered sweater.  Similar to last week's post here, I chose another leopard top with a great cardigan; layer on some of my jewelry and I'm set.

The hardest part about being a style blogger is keeping up with trends and budgeting.  Pulling out old favorites and wearing them again is something I do often. A definite plus in last year's purchases was this faux fur cardigan.  Still wearing and loving it.

It has cooled down and we've been enjoying easy, breezy fall days.  As you can see, the wind sometimes makes it difficult to get my hair to stay in place.  Although I love my hair, it gets dry in this weather and lately my little one loves to pull it out in clumps.  I've been thinking of doing something different with my hair, but can't decide what.  Any ideas, let me know? 

I recently found this skirt and love the double slits - if I buy anything black I like it to have special details.  Wore this outfit to a recent party, but it is also great with a chunky sweater (I'm in the search for a perfect one).  Paired with some cute tights and booties it will easily transition into the colder weather well.

This outfit reminded me of my cheerleading days in high school; I was a bit excited when I saw the initialed sweater.  I know it was by accident that we have the same initials, but I had been wanting a monogrammed sweater.  And my search for an oxblood item came to a halt when I saw this adorable skirt.  Temperatures are starting to get a bit cooler here and I'm hoping fall weather stays as long as possible.  I'm not ready for the snow, super cold, and wearing my puffer again.
