Love Camo

Camo is one of those trends some love or hate.  I love prints but I’m picky on the size of the print as well as the silhouette.  Camo can be too masculine or inexpensive looking and in my search of of a camo bottom I was looking for some details to break up the print as well as a print that was a bit softer.   The ones I’m sporting were perfect and a recent find!  Another tip – pair camo prints with girly details and a fitted top.  I’ve seen others pairing camo bottoms with a fun t-shirt, but I went with my favorite peplum top and some of my jewelry.

Where did I get these fabulous bottoms?  I recently went to visit the corporate office of. . .

Henry and Belle Pants (also here, similar on sale)

Zara top (similar, sleeveless on sale)

Kate Spade Pumps (on sale)

3.1 Phillip Lim bag

t+j Designs Luxe White Matte Spray & Crystal Necklace

One of my favorite Natural Stone Bracelet Stacks

Henry and Belle (which is based in Chicago) and fell in love with their denim.  The fabric has just the right stretch, thickness and of course they have a great selection of leg shapes, solid colors and prints.  I walked away with 5 pairs of denim!  Owning my own business I love the back story of how a business gets started and I love Henry and Belle’s story.  Another reason to love the company? Every pair of denim sold gives back, they set aside proceeds for selected charitable organizations every year (details here).  I love supporting a company that gives back and products that are fabulous.

What do you think of camo and this look?

Finally back at home, this trip home was pretty great.  Meeting my niece Layla, seeing how happy my parents were to interact with Grant and eating lots of Chinese food, it was a busy but memorable trip.  I think I also gained 20 pounds eating so much delicious food :).  Life has been hectic with traveling, preparing for fall/holiday collections, my son being more mobile and interactive than ever and moving into my new office space.  I was a tinge jealous of all those in NY for fashion week, but with all the things going on and being pregnant, I’ve been trying harder to take the weekends off and enjoy family time.  Seeing all the press we’ve received recently for t+j Designs and the increase of customers everyday makes me proud of what my sis and I have created.  I do suffer from being a workaholic (as I type my blog post at 10:00pm to post for tomorrow), but I wouldn’t be where I am without being a Type A person.  I really do thank you for reading/stopping by my blog whenever you can or when I post.  It is amazing what opportunities have come from this blog.  I look forward to next week (with my career post) and a post on a project I’m working on with Nordstrom!

xx Happy week!
