Last week I attended a blogger dinner hosted by my blogger friend Jena at Sophie’s at Saks Fifth Avenue.  Not only was the food delicious but the company was fun, fabulous and motivating .  I moved to Chicago only knowing a few people and the connections I’ve made just by blogging is amazing.  Blogging has introduced me to some of my favorite people.  Johanna is a close friend I met at an event, she has two adorable girls and a lifestyle blog that shares her life and her loves. She motivates me to take a break once in a while as well as to continue blogging :).  Nicole is my go to for anything beauty and I love her vlogs, she’s also a mother to two boys and lives nearby.  She has done segments on the Today Show as well hosts large events in Chicago.  I can’t imagine doing live TV and she does it flawlessly.  Lisa is a huge supporter of t+j Designs, blogs/instagrams/tweets/facebooks religiously and owns her own business too.  She is the sweetest person and love her entrepreneurial spirit and support.  I’ve met so many talented writers, fashionistas, and people.  Being a part of this community has made Chicago home (I’m originally from the west coast).  Social media is a large part of t+j Designs‘ success but it has also been essential to growing my friendships.  I don’t work in an office, I’m not from the midwest, and over 30 (it’s much harder to make friends later in age).  I’m not sure how I would have met people without blogging!  With this awful Chicago weather, being a mommy to two boys and working full time, blogging has taken a back seat to life.  The dinner and reflecting on all the wonderful people I’ve met has motivated me to start posting consistently again.

If your in Chicago, don’t forget to RSVP and stop by the Splash event on April 8th.  I’l be there with jewels in hand.  Details here.
