Instagram Recap and Yummy Foods in Chicago

It has been a busy month and I haven’t had a chance to touch upon some fun stuff I’ve experienced in the city.  One of the best parts about Chicago is the food scene.  The options, the experiences, the events, the variation.  Dining out is the biggest perk!

This past week we celebrated my husband’s birthday at Japonais by Morimoto; wow was it delicious.

The live octopus carpaccio was one of my favorite appetizers.  It is hard to find live octopus and not only was the sauce perfection but the octopus was simple and fresh.  There wasn’t an ounce of chewiness that you sometimes get with octopus.

The king crab legs are always on the top of our list and they didn’t disappoint.

And of course you can’t forget the beautifully presented and tasting sushi.  You can’t come here without eating the uni or fatty tuna.   If you are visiting Chicago and want some delicious Japanese food, martinis and a beautiful view, visit Japonais; they just opened their deck which faces the river and the view is gorgeous.

Another favorite topic of mine?  Red wine, of course!  The lovely team of Francis Coppola Winery held a beautiful event at a rooftop across from the Cubs Stadium.  The wine was flowing, the temperature was perfect and the view of the ballgame was awesome.

Cheering with my sis as we usually don’t get to go to events together.  We seem to think heels and baseball games go together :).  The adorable hats were courtesy of the winery.  I miss Napa and I hope I can get back there soon to visit Coppola.  I’m dying to visit their pool and just hang there with my red wine!

Writing my post I feel so lucky to have done all these things in the past weeks.  Another highlight?  Meeting Louise Roe at a Westfield Mall event.  Stylish, sweet and smart.  The event had the cutest decor, gift bags and food. Despite the pouring down rain and the cooler temps that day I got to see a bunch of people I know and hang out with Louise.  What a great night!

My fellow blogger friend Thida wearing my adorable t+j Designs heart dress!  I love when my friends wear my designs.

Last but not least, I went to Harry’s Swing Bar with a bunch of friends and was wowed!  I loved it.  Its the best place to go with a bunch of friends and eat some nachos, sliders and chill with fun drinks. And the price was so reasonable.  See menu here.  Looking for a night out with a big group of friends and don’t want the high bill, Harry’s is definitely my pick.

This post made me hungry and ready for the weekend!  Thanks for reading and keeping up with my adventures.
