I don’t blog about beauty often but I do love trying new products. Foundation has been a key struggle for me. I don’t love my skin, I do have freckles and veered away from heavier foundations for a while as I didn’t want to be the heavy caked face I see sometimes out there. Well, I’ve been using Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation even before they sent me more product.
It has a smooth texture, not too oily but not drying at all and the medium coverage is perfect for me. You can still see a little bit of my freckles but covered with powder I feel it’s the perfect finish. I dab the foundation on my cheeks, forehead and my nose area; some use a brush but I like to spread foundation with my fingers as I feel I can control the coverage more. Part of what attracted me in buying the foundation in the beginning was the marketing of it being HD and great for photos and my sister used it. But since I’ve purchased it, I use it daily. I really do love the coverage. I’ve used other brands, too light, too caky, or the light to medium coverage was not enough and the heavier coverage was too much. This is the perfect blend of both. Check out all the colors available in the foundation here.
I was also sent the Make Up For Ever HD Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick, I’ve never used it before and it was silky and a little heavier in coverage for the areas I wanted to hide. A great addition to my make up bag.
The Step 1 Equalizer was something new for me. It is supposed to balance out skin, even out the tone and increase the wearability of your makeup. I liked how my makeup set afterwards, but with my hurried schedule I tend to skip this step unless I’m going out to date night. It’s great if you want to take the extra step to give you skin a base before smoothing down the foundation.
And one of my all time favorite red lip colors is by Make Up For Ever. Color 43 Moulin Rouge (and compared to other brands $20 for lipstick is a steal!)
