I am Thankful For and I Will Work on . . .

I love to take this time of the year to reflect on all the good things to be thankful for, but also what items I need to work on so that I am always growing.

This year has been full of adventures.  From traveling a bunch to being accepted into 500 startups for my company T&J Designs; there are so many good memories and things to be thankful for.

For starters, like most, I’m most thankful for my family and friends. They are the backbone of who I am, who I look forward to seeing, being with, and they are everything to me.  My boys have taught me to have fun like a child, to dance for no reason, to laugh about the silliest things and to be patient.  One big thing I still need to work on, being patient :).  It’s so hard!

I love these boys more than I could ever imagine. Seeing them grow and being their mom, has taught me to be in the now and consume the hugs and kisses as much as I can.  They have shown me what love is.

My sister is the best partner in life and business.  She continues to teach me things and was such a strong person/friend/sister for me during our time with 500 Startups.  The traveling back and forth, the amount of changes and learnings we went through and the coaching, the late nights and the discussions about life and business was something I will cherish forever.  And I can’t thank her enough for her advice, ears and encouragement she gave me to pitch in front of hundreds of investors.  She helped me face my biggest fear and was the biggest cheerleader at the end.  I thought I was going to poop my pants but she got me through it!

My husband for his constant support of my life, my issues, and being the best Dad to our kids.  I don’t open up personally about marriage, but marriage is hard and this year was the hardest for us.  Having two kids under 5, my work load, my travels, and my stubborness leads to unhealthy interactions, stress, and takes a toll.  It is a constant work in progress and I am thankful for his partnership in working towards a better place.

My unbelievable support system of girls that help me keep my head on straight, listen and encourage, love and are beautiful inside and out.  I am so thankful I have them.  This girl would do anything for her friends and I am lucky I have them.  Girls are at times difficult to understand, so much drama, but my handful of good friends, they are not.  True friends are the best friends.

There are so many parts of my life that I am thankful for that the list is too long to list.  I have a great life and I know it.  And to top it off, I do what I love for a living.  I am thankful for all of it.

The parts I want to work on?  Well, I try not to make this list too long or I wont’ be able to achieve all of it!

Health and fitness – I’m not healthy AT ALL.  It is bad.  I haven’t worked out in years and I eat like a garbage can.  I want to work on this after the holidays (man, this sounds like a new year’s resolution) but I need to watch out for my health.

I need to be more positive, stress out less, and be more patient overall.  These are definitely not my strong suits, which would make my life easier.

As a mom, I need to tell myself I am doing ok.  I have days where I feel like I’m a horrible mom, I’m not good at things, I don’t do pinterest activities, I don’t like cooking, and I don’t create memory books.  Hell, I don’t even have photo albums.  I know, I take a lot of photos and have no albums!  So I need to tell myself, it’s ok, I’m doing good, they are happy and well loved.

Be thankful and express gratitude towards others more often.  I am guilty of not doing this enough.

Happy Thanksgiving and thank YOU for following, reading and supporting my journey as a blogger, mom, entrepreneur, and woman.
