I started 2018 in Los Angeles with good friends and a fantastic stay at the Terranea Resort.
I am so grateful for all the messages and comments on my last post. Opening up was a hard decision but the wonderful support I received ended my 2017 with such positivity. Thank you guys!
I spent a wonderful week with my kids and my family for Christmas and than off to la la land for a mini vacation. My friends and I were excited to get away to Terranea (they live in LA and had been to the spa) and with the cold front entering Chicago, I was more than happy to take a night to relax.
The gorgeous entry of the hotel. The drive to Terranea was about 40 minutes from Downtown LA. You’ll see why this destination is a favorite as you go through this post. The views and the property is fantastic.
The resort boasts hillside views of the Pacific and areas where you can hike around. As you can see, I’m pretty excited to be in warmer weather :). The most gorgeous views of the Pacific wrap around the whole property and the adult pool, spa pool and main pool all face the ocean.
We ate a tasty lunch at Nelson’s on the patio overlooking the water. We relaxed with a glass of Rosé and some yummy food. I loved being able to eat outside in January. This was a great spot for lunch with a good American menu with classics such as the caesar salad and fish and chips.
The resort has over 500 rooms, 4 swimming pools and a golf course. We checked into a lovely double queen ocean view room and they welcomed us with a bottle of champagne. I love a good gray/neutral interior, the beds were super comfy and the bathroom was a good size. The deck overlooking the hillside was a great spot to watch the sunset.
My girlfriends and I opted for facials at the spa. It was a little cooler so we weren’t able to use the beautiful spa pool but we got great use of the hot tub and steam room. I would love to come back when it’s a big warmer as the spa pool and chairs look perfect for some relaxation.
The facial I received was geared towards my skin type and was relaxing however it was a bit on the lighter touch side. I didn’t see much difference in the before and after. The extractions and masks done were a much needed treatment for me, but I do love a more intense shiny glow when I leave.
We watched the gorgeous sunset from the second floor of the spa with a cup of tea.
Dinner was at Bashi where we enjoyed a wide array of Asian dishes. Sushi, Korean short ribs, kung pao chicken and fried rice. We sat on the patio again, enjoying the food, bubbles and sake. The patio is also a great spot for dates as many of those around us were couples.

You can see a peak of the adult pool below this view here.
This is the main pool which faces the view I showed above.
Starting the new year at Terranea was a fantastic way to recharge. If you love LA as much as I do and want a quick getaway, this is the perfect spot. I would love to come back when it is a bit warmer and enjoy another day at the spa. It’s a beautiful property, the pools are quite nice (and I want to use it next time), and the views were gorgeous.
Starting the new year here was the perfect beginning for 2018.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday and happy new year. I’m excited to share more travel and style content as well as change things up this year. Any questions, anything you would like to know, leave me a comment or email. xoxo
