Chicago Visits Los Angeles: Where Dreams Come True
When I was growing up Los Angeles was my dream city. My favorite movies were Pretty Women and Clueless and the “lifestyle and celebrity” image of la la land was where I dreamed to live. I grew up and moved to San Francisco, which was close enough to visit often and this past month, my dreams did come true as I partnered with Discover Los Angeles to experience my favorite city as a blogger. These pictures show my joy, my love, and how happy I am to be doing what I do.
With two girlfriends, Ceta and Andrea, and my favorite photographer, Hannah, we went to Los Angeles to enjoy the fun in the sun.
We stayed at the gorgeous Kimpton Everly Hotel and I couldn’t say enough. The staff, the decor, the rooms, the beds were so comfy, and once again the staff/service was excellent. It felt like home and I would definitely recommend it! This lounge area and bar was a great spot to chat and people watch.
Malibu is one of my favorite places! The gorgeous beach, the signs, the air, the stunning houses lined up. It is always on my list to stop by when I go to LA.
My red swimsuit whole post is here
Nobu Malibu is a MUST DO!! I have been there 3-4 times – it is spectacular, the views are the best and I can not tell you enough how much I love it. Whether it be your first time traveling to LA or 20th time, if you haven’t been here, you are missing out. It is a 3 hour lunch that is worth every minute. Relax and fall in love with Los Angeles even more. And the food is INCREDIBLE but it is more expensive. So if you have that one splurge, this is the place to be.

My obsession with In-and-Out had us at this spot immediately after we landed. The burgers are my favorite and their shakes, yummmmmm!
On the bottom of this post I’ll mention some of my favorite restaurants as well as my girlfriend’s top 5 (as she lives in LA)!

The Broad Museum is beautiful inside and out. It is a a contemporary art museum founded by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad and it’s located in downtown Los Angeles. The museum is home to more than 2,000 works of art and has rotating exhibits. We loved it and went there for the afternoon.
One of my favorite things was seeing in the Hollywood sign. I’ve been to LA sooo many times and I’ve never done this hike or seen the sign up close. If you have time, do the full hike. If you don’t have the time , drive right to this spot and you’ll get some excellent photos!
This year has been full of surprises, although I’m transiting into a whole new single lifestyle, I am doing what I love and this trip was on top of my list as a highlight. My life has not exactly played out the way I thought. As a 10 year old girl, I loved fashion, I looked different than others in my class (my sister and I were the only ones that were Chinese in our school) and I never knew it was possible to do what I am doing now. Grateful and so appreciative to have you on my journey to more adventures! xoxo
Dream big, work hard, and make it happen.
Other favorite Los Angeles spots I love are listed below. If you’ve never been you have to hit some of this spots.
