Why I Wear Bodysuits and Tips

Why I Wear Bodysuits and Tips On Buying/Wearing Them!

In the past year, I’ve developed a huge crush on bodysuits and was asked by a friend why I love them.  I started wearing them during the winter time to pair underneath cardigans. I love a good bulky sweater cardigan and a bodysuit was the perfect lightweight fix for underneath. Plus it looks great with leather jackets, blazers, coats, I mean the list is long as to what you can style it with.  After wearing them, I have some baseline tips for you guys if you haven’t taken the leap!

#1 Get yourself a high waisted pair of denim if you want to wear them. It keeps you tucked in better and bodysuits are meant to be worn with a higher waisted items. My favorite pair I wear that has the perfect stretch and hits my stomach at the right place is this pair.

#2 If you like your tummy area sucked in, bodysuits are fantastic for it and look for “tummy” friendly fabrics and descriptions.  I love this one (and you get two in a pack!)

#3 Do you love pencil skirts or midi skirts? Bodysuits are perfect for these two pairings as well! Since the bodysuit is tucked in perfectly, there’s no bulkiness underneath.

#4 Bodysuits with snaps on the bottom are much easier to go to the bathroom in! I know seems like common sense, but not all bodysuits have the snaps.

I wore this bodysuit recently to Lollapalooza and had a blast.  It also comes in black and I love the pin details.  I’ve been stockpiling on bodysuits so if this one is a bit too much for you, the best silhouette to start with is a tank bodysuit. It pairs with everything and easily transitions into Fall.

My last few tips:

#5 I hate wearing strapless bras so I buy these nipple covers (I buy two at time and they are reusable). I’ve tried all sorts of things and these are the best! I swear by these covers. For dresses, bodysuits, tank tops, anything where you don’t want to wear a bra and need coverage.

#6 Be sure when trying a bodysuit on, style it up and walk/sit/move around. You want to make sure you are comfortable, that the torso/snaps and the fit is great. You do not want to be fixing anything while out or feel uncomfortable.

Have I convinced you yet? With style, you have to be adventurous so that you don’t get stuck in a rut. As Fall/Winter approaches you’ll be surprised how much you’ll wear a bodysuit under sweaters!

This month has already been such a busy one and I want Summer to slow down. My kids go back to school soon and I dread the thought of winter coming . . .

Taking time to enjoy these next few weeks and hope you are too!

Girl, I’m totally with you. I loved bodysuits before but over the last year or so I’ve been looking at them and buying them like they are my job!
