What’s In My Chanel Bag

I thought I would do a fun post today about what’s in my bag (purse) as well as what’s in my work bag. I try to keep it as simple as possible as I run around most of the time and my flat lays show everything neatly laid out, but the honest truth is usually there is a slew of receipts in each bag. I’ll dive in more below and what helps me day to day!

What's in my bag, Chanel Gold Boy Bag, Items in my purse, Jennifer Worman, Chicago Lifestyle Blogger, Valentino Change Purse

The things in my Chanel Boy Bag:

Wallet with cards:  My good friend Robert started this company called Capsule Wallets. He gifted me this years ago and I love it so much I never changed it out.  It holds all the essential cards (he would probably kill me with how many cards I have) but I love that it goes from a big bag to a clutch so easily.  It is the ONLY wallet I’ve used for the last 5+ years.

Valentino change purse: This was a dear gift from my girlfriends for a big birthday. I hold my cash and change in it and of course, it is in my favorite color.  A love gifts that are essential to your life but you never knew it! Before this, my change was just hanging out on the bottom of my bag. Each time I use it I think of them!

Sunglasses: These have been my favorite sunglasses this year. And if you follow me, you know I always have a pair on.  On sale and such a steal right now, I have these exact ones.

Makeup – this is my essentials: Nars Powder Foundation, NYX Lipstick, and pencil, and Make Up Forever Lipstick (my favorite red color you always see my wear C403). The two things I need tuck in nicely in any bag. I don’t like to carry a ton of make up around.

Car Key: No explanation needed 🙂

Apartment Keys: my son made my keychain for me which is extra special to me.

Business Card Holder: I got this business card holder from Create and Cultivate and don’t remember the brand! Since I go to events quite often, having business cards are essential.

Receipts (lots of them): I keep my many many receipts

Regarding handbags:  So this gold Chanel Boy Bag is a few years old. It is the medium size and one of my favorite bags. My main feedback is that the chain is a bit heavy and it doesn’t exactly work as a crossbody although I make it one.  But the medium size has a good amount of room and you can use it day or night.

I know Chanel bags are pricey, the resale market is the best bet for a better deal and it’s the one brand that keeps its value well.  Shop a few favorites below. If you want ONE bag for years, I do recommend a classic Chanel bag first or a Boy Bag. A Chanel bag is always on my wishlist for my birthday/X’mas (my birthday is coming up and so close to X’mas :).

For other crossbody options, shop here.

I don’t carry much extras like lotion or gum/candy. These things are stuffed in as needed but I like to keep my bag with items I really need.

What’s in my work bag (Chanel Deauville Medium Size)?

2018 and 2019 Calendars: My 2019 planner is only $12.99 and purchased from my favorite store here. I’m so old school that I still write all my meetings and plans in rather than use google calendar and all the other apps. I love the feeling of being able to open a calendar and see the whole month.

Notebook and Pen: With my mom brain, a notebook is essential to my checklist. I like to make lists each day and cross out each task, it’s strangely satisfying to wrap up the list each day! I buy all my notebooks here.

MacBook Pro: I’ve had a MacBook for years. I hope to upgrade again this year as I blog full time, but it’s like my right hand.

Extra phone cords and charger: I can not live without these items. My phone is always dying, my laptop needs a recharge and my extra phone battery pack has been a lifesaver when I travel.

Makeup Bag: Too Faced Setting Powder and Bridezilla color LipstickMake Up Forever Lipstick (C403), EcoTools Makeup Brush, NudeStix Lip Pencil (the best nude lip pencils I’ve tried!)

I was recently introduced to Too Faced and love the scent and texture of their products! I’ve also been using their foundation and love the coverage.

EcoTools is super affordable makeup brushes. A great gift for the holidays and sets in makeup well.  I’ve used a variety of brushes from high end to steals and these are a favorite. My exact powder brush here.

For cute cosmetic pouches, shop here.

If you are searching for a trendy bag, I’m loving the bucket bag trend. Shop these here.

Additional items I add when traveling: Candy, Pretzels, magazines, and headphones!

Regarding my Chanel Deauville Bag, I own the medium size as it fit my laptop well but wasn’t overwhelming.  The large Deauville bag looked big on me and is a great travel and overnight bag but didn’t work for me every day. I have friends that have the large size, it is just a matter of preference and how many items you carry.

Happy week! I did a Christmas tree poll on my Instagram stories and it did so well I’ll be doing a whole post on decorating trees. xoxo
