Valentine’s day is next week and I’m a big romantic gal who loves thoughtful gestures. Although I don’t have a Valentine this year, I think it is important to treat the ones you love with little gifts here and there, whether it is a holiday or not.
Speaking for myself, the thoughtful gifts on any day is the best. I find women want to be appreciated (men do too) and although we ALL love nice spendy gifts, these ideas are easy to do and your man can do them too!
This gorgeous dress is a perfect Valentine’s Day outfit. Thank you to Mac Duggal for partnering with me.
I wore this for the shoot on 7 degrees day, it was all worth it for these beautiful shots by Hannah. And this rainbow umbrella is a favorite for photos and use as well.
10 Easy and Romantic Ideas
{1} Go to Walgreens or online to print out a few photos or ten from your phone and fill a notebook full of your favorite moments. Write out why each is meaningful to you.
{2} Run a bubbling bath, fill the bathroom with candles (or a few) and give her a glass of champagne.
{3} For a couples activity, go to my favorite fancy bath house Aire Ancient Baths. It is less than $100 per person and so relaxing. I like to book a massage with it which is a little bit more.
{4} If he/she likes to read, buy a book that they may like and sign the inside with your favorite love quote.
{5} Surprise your significant other with a picnic. Sandwiches, cheese, desserts, and a bottle of your favorite wine. Go to a park, beach, or even cuter, do it in your living room with the lights dim and over candlelight.
{6} Write little love notes and tuck it in their purse, coat pocket, mirror in the bathroom when they get ready, TV, work bag, where ever they may find it so that these notes become little surprises through the day or week.
{7} If love notes are not your thing, send an email every day or once a week with a quote or poem that reminds you of them. Do it in the morning so when they sit down to look over their email, they start their day off with love.
{8} Print out one photo as an 8 x 10 of you both, on the back write a list of things you love about them.
{9} Hold hands and take a walk together. This sounds so simple but if you are married for a while, it isn’t something done that often. Even better, find places to smooch each other.
{10} If you are open to spending the money, my favorite is booking a staycation, spa, and dinner out at your favorite place. Plan the whole day/night so they are surprised by it all.
There’s a ton of things you can do but these are just a few that come to mind that is easy and your partner would appreciate. I’m sure these are more geared to women, but I’m hopeful that a man would appreciate these gestures as well.
I love this quote by Reese Witherspoon, “You always gain by giving love”. So simple and sometimes so hard to do. xoxo
