2019 has been the best year for travels. I’ve been fortunate enough to partner with some of the best hotels and this is no exception.  I had one of the best experiences in my own city of Chicago and if you are ever visiting this city, you must look into staying here! I got the opportunity to spend the whole weekend at the beautiful Langham Chicago, one night for a girl’s night and one night with my boys. It was the perfect staycation with so many perks that you have to read about below. As a guest, you would LOVE these bonuses that this hotel provides.

If you are looking for the best place to stay in Chicago, look no further as I have found it for you here.

They treated me to a one bedroom club suite that had floor to ceiling river views which were just spectacular. I love the rich neutral decor and with about 1000 square feet of space, I wanted to make it my home. My girlfriend and I just stared at the views and when my kids saw the room all they could say was “WOW”.

The beds were luxurious and comfortable and not pictured are walk-in closets and an amazing HUGE bathroom with a glorious tub (that I took a bath in to relax before my kids came to me the second night).

They went above and beyond and left a surprise in our room for my boys which included monogrammed robes, slippers and a bunch of special treats. To say they were excited was an understatement. They truly thought of every detail to make our stay so special.

One morning we had breakfast at the Langham Club lounge and it was spectacular. It’s located on the uppermost floor of the hotel and is the highest and largest luxury hotel club service. A breakfast buffet, all-day refreshments, afternoon tea, premium bar service and hors d’ oeuvres are served daily. We enjoyed the most delicious breakfast spread and the best views of the Chicago River, Lake Michigan, and Chicago Skyline.

My kids and I spent Saturday afternoon at this pool! It’s a great perk to be able to get out of the Chicago weather and at the far end is a hot tub that we loved as well.  Down the hall from the pool is the gym as well as the famous Chuan Spa. It’s the only 5-star spa in Chicago and it’s on my next to do list as the reviews are amazing for it.

My friend and I ate at Travelle twice while there. Once for dinner and another for brunch.  Travelle is located on the second floor  (across from lobby) and I can’t recommend it enough. This is a must-do when staying at or visiting the Langham. The seasonal American cuisine is absolutely delicious and includes ingredients from the finest farms, ranches, and orchards in the nation. Chef Jeff was the best and came out to say hello each time. The photos below do not show you how delicious it really was.  For dinner, it is nice, romantic and the seafood and steak is so beautifully done. Every bite was amazing. Personally, I would come here with a date for dinner and not with the kids.  It’s a great vibe for couples.

The bar is pretty busy at night with guests as well as locals. I love grabbing a drink here.  Not only are the cocktails unique and delicious, but the views are amazing.

Brunch photos – the cinnamon bun is the best we ever had and the lobster benedict as you can see is rich and yummy. One of my favorite brunch spots now that I’ve been here.

Dinner – seafood and steak were equally delicious. And the best treat was Chef Jeff coming out to talk to us and we got a behind the scenes in the kitchen.

When my boys arrived on Saturday we were treated to a special afternoon tea.  The Afternoon Tea in the Pavilion is served daily and is one of my favorite things to do in the city. A perfect spot to enjoy with a girlfriend, for a bridal shower and it’s also child-friendly with a kids selection of teas. My boys and I enjoyed the high tea experience complete with sandwiches and a selection of treats. I’ve taken friends here before and it was so special to experience it with my boys.

For those moms (hubbies) that haven’t made plans yet, either treat those special moms to this afternoon tea or make mother’s day brunch plans at Travelle! See more info here.

One thing I never knew about was their cinema suite. If you call ahead, you can reserve this suite for you and your kids or friends for two-hour increments! We rented Spiderman and watched it Sunday morning with a side of popcorn.

Another perk for kids is the kid’s suite. Filled with games, it is a great spot to stop by for some fun.  See an overview of the hotel and perks of these suites here.

The overall experience of Langham Chicago was pure luxury and I can not recommend it enough for a staycation or vacation with your significant other or the family. Rated as one of the best hotels in the United States, it isn’t just an experience it is a memory you’ll love of your stay in Chicago.

See my post of what to do, eat and stay in Chicago below and the Langham of course was one of them.
