So this post was set up weeks ago and I wasn’t motivated to write. With work slowing down and the virus, I didn’t know if it was strange to write about shopping or what to share. But I decided to publish this post because 1) I really do love dusters and utilize them as swim coverups on vacations and 2) I thought I would also share my general thoughts about being at home with the kiddos and what is happening.
This duster (at a steal at $45) is so easy to pair with a tank/bodysuit and denim. I know it isn’t a style everyone feels they can wear, but I find dusters elongate and streamline bodies. I feel taller, thinner, and in this monochromatic look with the bodysuit, it is easy to wear for a night out. The duster also comes in black which may be an easier look for some. Fashion should be fun, try things on before saying you can’t wear it, and this duster trend is one I recommend! Other tips:
- Wear it on vacation with a one-piece and denim shorts to the pool
- Wear it with a knit mini or midi dress
- Belt it on the waist with denim if you want a more fitted look
- Don’t spend a fortune on a duster, besides the one I’m wearing, scroll down for more dusters I love.

So how am I feeling?
Overwhelmed, anxious and hopeful. In one week, SOOO much changed. 7 days ago I was in Miami, shooting brand content, enjoying the sun, and eating out with friends. As you are experiencing, everything is shutting down and social distancing is greatly enforced. Reading Facebook honestly drives me nuts, you really get to know people based on what they post. Instagram can be a source of fun and relief but also feel a bit annoying. Which is hilarious in that I’m still posting and writing here, but I’m taking it seriously. What I share on stories is to provide some fun and what my thoughts are. On my Instagram are ways to continue connecting, but I find it strange to see girls who aren’t addressing any issues, and/or on vacations currently! Tik toks are our current enjoyment and I went from not understanding why anyone was on it to recording daily! It is entertaining and good stress relief (like watching a reality show in 15 seconds).
My kids are home, I got a good structure today and trying to home school. My ex and I are working together to make sure they still stay on top of school stuff. Grocery store stock up done and my priority this week is to organize my home and still share fun content.
I am completely in for social distancing, making sure my kids are safe, I’m safe, and hope everyone is doing the same. Two weeks to a month or so of sitting at home is not the worst thing to ever happen but what is suffering is WORK. Many of my friends and I work for ourselves, marketing budgets are on hold, the travel and restaurant industry are taking a HUGE hit and we all know what the market is like. So my goal is to still share the things I love, keeping myself and you guys entertained and keep being positive. Let’s all stick together to make sure we are looking out for each other and text, call and facetime your close ones to check up on them. Remember when things lighten up to support the small businesses, restaurants, and I personally, love any feedback on what you want me to share to keep you through the week. Self beauty care is what I’ve been doing after the kiddos go to bed and of course, some wine or drinks (lol).
Be safe, keep being positive and thanks for following along! Besides work, dating has gotten a back seat lol! 2020 . . . let’s all hope for the best.
NOTE: Let’s all make sure to be kind, at the store, driving, when posting online. This is week 1 of real lockdown for my family so let’s see how I feel in the upcoming weeks :).
