Mother’s Day: Chicago Local Gift and My top 5 favorite gifts

I can’t believe it’s May and that Sunday is Mother’s Day. I wish I could be by my family more than ever, but I’m grateful for facetime and Facebook Portal (which we use once a week). Modern technology has definitely made this quarantine more bearable as seeing familiar faces keeps me happy and upbeat.

I wanted to do a quick post for you guys who needed some ideas and also help support a friend who launched a business during these times. Not only is Elise the sweetest person, but she’s a hard worker and these packages are fabulous.  I’ve seen other similar services, but these packages are GORGEOUS and anyone would LOVE getting these at their front door. Chicago and suburb delivery and it’s included in the prices (I’m telling you such a steal).

Petite parties are celebrating birthdays, graduations, Mother’s Day . . . check out their site for all the packages. They launched the Mother’s Day package and it is one of my favorites. The florals alone are gorgeous, but to also get a layered cake and champagne, mom could not be happier!

If you live elsewhere, these are my top five items I LOVE and would love to get for Mother’s Day:

{1} JEWELRY: If you have the budget, jewelry is my favorite. I have pieces that I cherish, wear daily, and each one reminds me of who and when it was given to me. As you know, I’m single now, but when I can I splurge for myself. I don’t believe you always have to wait for someone else to do so.

This year, treat your special Mom to something that will last forever or if you are a husband, this is a perfect time to show your wife your appreciation. Us moms are doing a ton these days!

{2} CANDLES: Something super budget-friendly are candles. I burn candles every night and I’m pretty picky about the smell, how long they last or burn, and how they look on my tabletop/coffee table. Below are some of my favorites, my absolute favorite brand is Diptyque candles (Baies flavor) and I’ve been burning them for over 10 years.

{3} Luxury bag: Another gift that will last forever is a beautiful bag. My favorite are crossbody bags now as they are easier to use with kids.

{4} Gift cards (and add a little something like a candle to it). With everything going on, getting a gift card is great and attach a flower or candle to it so that it’s still sweet and simple. My favorite is a handmade card from my kids with a gift card. This is the easiest for those on a tight timeline and you haven’t done anything yet!

{5} Flowers that last forever. I’ve mentioned these before and adore them. I partnered with Venus Et Fleur before and they are still by far my favorite florals in my home. I’ve had them over a year and they still look terrific!

OTHER THINGS I ABSOLUTELY LOVE AND ARE GREAT GIFTS (I’ve already shared on old blog posts):

MacKenzie-Childs (so many great house items for around $100)

Beauty buys that will make her feel relaxed.

Great loungewear I own

Happiest Mother’s Day to my mommas out there. It is certainly a different way of celebrating this year, so I hope whoever is in charge of treating you well is doing so. I’ll be spending it my kiddos and enjoy it with a glass of wine.
