I love parties, hearts, glam everything, and with Valentine’s Day fastly approaching I wanted a glam Valentine’s and Galentine’s party theme set up in my home. I love inspiring you guys to do the same, whether it be for Valentine’s Day, birthday, anniversary or a romantic night in, why not make it special, pretty, and yummy!
These days with everyone staying in, I say spice up every occasion with these decor ideas. These vendors are all in Chicago, so if you are here, make sure to check them out.
These LOVE Marquee Lights are from Alpha Lit Chicago (@alphalitchicago on Instagram). They have letters and numbers for every occasion. I love this small business and the couple that runs it just had a baby :). They set it up in no time, the letters are weighted down so they won’t fall, and standing at 3ft-4ft. tall they make any party fab. Letters/numbers start at $50 each (what a great price) and they can light up your occasion anytime. The letters are also outdoor-friendly so you know for sure I’ll be doing this on my patio come summer! Alpha Lit has many locations so check it out here.
I’m surprising my son with numebers this week as it’s his birthday! Can’t recommend them enough. So great to work with!
The styling of the glam Valentine’s and Galentine’s party set up was done by my friend Elise (@chicfromchicago on Instagram). You’ve seen her previous setups for my birthday (post here) and my patio party (post here). She does weddings, birthdays, engagements, dinner parties, look at her Instagram feed and you’ll see how talented she is. I’ve highly recommend her!
The cookies are made by Jazzy Sweets (@jassy_sweets); her cookies are so delicious and beautifully made. She can do any theme! Love the conversation cookies she made (see below).
The beautiful heart fruit cake was made by Bittersweet Pastry. Their cakes/treats are not only gorgeous but delicious.

A few tips to throwing your own glam Valentine’s/Galetine’s Party:
{1} Target, the Dollar Store, and Walmart are great affordable places to buy red, pink, and heart shaped items. I have an affordable shopping collage on the bottom to achieve the same look!
{2} Buy florals from the grocery store (roses) or faux flowers in red and pink to decorate the table. I love florals so a table full of rose petals is easy to do, with clusters of roses.
{3} Balloons: so my friend Elise is an expert on tying them together as seen in the photos in clusters. I, however, lack time and the talent to do that, so if I didn’t have her – I actually love having all of them on the ground clustered around the table. Loose and easy and no need for helium!
{4} This table used is actually my coffee table; for a picnic style romantic dinner, move your coffee table, use lots of pillows to sit on, and voila!
{5} Candles, real or faux (I have some amazon ones that light up) and lots of them, give off such a romantic vibe.
{6} Make the food part easy. Put together a charcuterie board, order a pizza! I mean it is all about the setup and having a great time with whomever you are with. If it looks nice, don’t break your back cooking a full meal. Or head to Trader Joe’s and get a bunch of appetizers. Heat them up in the oven, get some dips, and there you go!
{7} Sweet treats, bubbles, or wine in pretty glasses, finish off the get-together. See below for some cute pink glasses, and I buy my wine glasses from Target!
{8} My last tip: Get dressed up ladies! With quarantine still in effect, the way to make it feel intimate and special is to get yourself ready. You’ll feel great and whether it is hanging out with friends or a date, looking super cute, doesn’t hurt anyone!
Thank you to everyone involved for putting together this glam Galentine’s day setup and yes, I did eat all the sweet treats!
