Mexico is my favorite spot to get away from city life, the harsh winters, and it has been my go-to for a vacation for 20 years. A friend introduced me to this area of Punta Mita and this home and I fell madly in love with Casa de Las Abuelas. For my birthday this year, I wanted to go there again with a few friends and it was the loveliest time. I almost don’t want to share this spot as I want to keep it a hidden secret for myself.

Casa de Las Abuelas is in a private community with its own pool, very secluded lovely beach, and a list of amenities that make it the perfect retreat for families or groups of friends:
- 4 bedrooms/4 bathrooms
- Private Pool
- Bar area outside stocked with drinks
- Wifi
- Suburban for use the whole stay
- Staff who cleans daily and cooks two meals a day (they are AMAZING!)
- Location is actually in the Punta del Burro’s Surfing Area, but very close to Punta Mita and Sayulita
- Washer and Dryer
- Pizza Oven
- Views are spectacular
- Security in the neighborhood so feels very safe

I’ve been twice and not only do I love the house but the staff Baly, Juan, and Kobe make it a wonderful experience. Juan picks you up at the airport and makes sure to stock things in the house with what you want. Baly is an amazing chef, cooks the menu you decide (it’s beyond delish). and Kobe refills the margarita glasses like no other.
Each bedroom is unique and has a good amount of space. I stayed in the master upstairs which also has a private deck and an epic view (the first two photos above are the deck and master suite as well). Theirs another bedroom in a hut next to it and two bedrooms on the main floor (one bedroom with two twin beds). The kitchen is all red tile and pretty, and the place is decorated exactly the way you would want your Mexican villa.
We spent 5 nights enjoying the home, walking the beach, and watching the epic sunsets with a glass of Margarita. I love how peaceful, relaxed, pretty the spaces are and it feels like home away from home.

This is a walkway into the back part of the home. The greenery and landscaping are beautiful with bougainvilleas spread among the property.
Epic sunsets with soft sand.
And the pool view is just stunning towards the beach and tall palm trees. The pool is exactly the perfect temperature and we swam day and night!
As I have said before I loved this place and would highly highly recommend it. I typically don’t go places twice and I would rent this home again and take my boys. It is affordable and I love that a large vehicle and the staff are included with the home.

What else did we do?
Surfing lessons here (loved it).
I had dinner in Punta Mita at these two restaurants:
Tuna Blanca Go at sunset so you can see the view. Great food and outside area.
Mina: I had my birthday dinner here. The restaurant is right on the beach and also so pretty inside.
Go into the town of Sausilito, it’s got great shopping and a beautiful vibe.
